Any of you guys that run the 35 mudbuddy sport have problems with the clutches going out on them? ive talked to multiple people that have the models with the clutch and are continuosly spending 600 dollars replacing the clutches in them. everyone ive talked to about them say go with the direct drive no neutral. just trying to see if yall are having the same problems.

 Re: mud buddy clutches
Don't know specifics on a mudbuddy, but 600 sounds way on the high side for a clutch and they are very reliable unless there is another issue in the drive somewhere. Same style clutch used on a lawnmower and they get several thousand hours of service out of them. They can fail prematurely, but I would not own a motor without one. To replace one on a pd is only $200ish though. My clutch has been on two different powerheads and probably has 3-400 hours on it.

 Re: mud buddy clutches
$600????!!!!!! The clutch & New gear are only about $300, & new belt is only about $125. They paying $175 for labor, they getting reamed!!!! Takes less than an hour to change em both, IF both needed replaced.

 Re: mud buddy clutches
yea i hear alot of the clutches going out at around 60-100 hours, i wanna get one i just cant decide between direct drive or clutch with the neutral. i have a godevil longtail now, so it wouldnt be a problem for me to have the direct drive because i am used to it. thanks for the input guys.

 Re: mud buddy clutches
My friend had a 23 MB with less than 50 hours on it and his clutch went out twice. Sold the motor and the boat and got away from mud motors.

 Re: mud buddy clutches
get on the mb forum and ask that question.....it will either get answered or deleted. or both. image is everything and with mb it is their priority over customers and reliability.
