 Bayou Meto
Anyone hunt there? Thinking about making that trip next year at least once. If you hunt there, you have any tips or advice? Not looking for hunting info, just info that might be useful for a first-timer. Hunting will be done midweek. Thx

 Re: Bayou Meto
Hunted it the last 5 days. Worst hunting of my season. The birds have imprinted on the rest areas & lay up there all day.

^ This. Early season is better. I believe Owendickenson went there a few weeks ago. He might have some insight for you.

 Re: Bayou Meto
I thought it was. I bet there are some real good spots to hunt on some rivers around that area. I have heard that the Meto itself is very hit or miss.

 Re: Bayou Meto
i have hunted there for the past 5 years it is a experince you won't forget if you get the birds in the hole. It helps if you can get up there a day before the season starts that way you can scout around an see where the birds are in the morning an where they are going through out the day an find you a nice hole to set up inbetween an you should kill birds. I got in really good with some local guys from up there an we have become good friends. I guess they saw an ol boy from La sleeping in a tent in low 20 degree wheater an there said this guy is serious. If at all possibale make some friends with some locals they will point you in the right direction

 Re: Bayou Meto
Yeah, but they keep their distance when there's an 8' rooster tail shot in their face in 30deg weather.
