Full floor. Gutters and gaps are hard to clean and a PITA.

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
Does that add that much weight to the boat? When u have full floor and catwalks verse gutters with no catwalk? Or would you not even tell the difference in performance

My next rig will have a sealed full floor and a drop down bilge area against the transom to wash crap into.

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
My boat is 1854 with catwalks and full floor. I have had both and prefer the full floor. I think the added weight of full floor and catwalks is negligable.

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
Def get catwalks and a full floor! i have a 1754 extreme series with the 10" catwalks and love it. it takes away negligible floor space since the beam is wider than the floor.

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
gutters with 2" drains.......easy to wash out, nothing hangs up between cross braces....wash everything to gutter then out the back. The gutters on my boat are 1" at the bottom.

Gutters are a pita! They get full of leaves, twigs, and all kinds of other stuff. I wish mine didn't have gutters and if I could find a good way to make it a full floor easily cheaply I'd do it.

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
are you guys idiots? spray them out!!! If you have a full floor with exposed cross braces, everything gets stuck on the cross brace with no where to go....with a gutter, you wash everything to the gutter and out the back....I guess if you have raised the full floor to above the cross braces you could wash everything out the back, but if you have water and mud in the boat it can only go back to the driver, not off the sides into the gutter. also when shooting from boat, those emptys that land in the boat, end up in the gutter and with the 2" drains, I can wash empty shells, mud, vegitation out the back..........cat walks on a narrow boat like mine would be only for looks because you are no going to walk them, on a wider boat they would be nice, especially when a shelf is built bellow it and lighting tucked up underneath it..

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
Gutters suck when you have boxes that are welded to the side and the gutter runs under them. If you have an open hull go with the gutters. If you are adding boxes floor to wall.
Catwalks a huge value add.

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
It's an 1854 wit driver box. So I guess the gutters would run under it but I'm not to sure I've never had one built before. As for the catwalks. I just want them to have lighting under them

The smaller catwalks are mainly for strength in the sides.

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
Unless you are raising your floor above the cross braces I wouldn't do a full floor.

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
Your going to have to pick that shit out with or without gutters....your not washing it out if the back with a full floor and even with all that in the gutter, water will drain....

My gutters are kinda skinny, either way it would be easier to clean with a full floor

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
I've had both... I like skinny gutters. The reason being is that if you are in and out of your boat a lot your floor will stay wet getting all of your gear wet as well. With the gutters, that water drains off the floor, keeping everything in your boat dryer/cleaner.
Cat walks wide enough to walk on are a must. You can have your floor full of gear and still walk easily about the boat if needed.

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
I have big gutters , I like em cuz my boat stays dirty and full of mud, the floor stays clean because of the gutters, and with 2 2" plugs, almost everything washes out

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
Definitely catwalks!!! They're my favorite feature of my boat! Corey talked me into 8" catwalks, and I'm glad he did! I thought they would be too wide and cut into the floor space by sticking I. To far, but they absolutely don't. In fact, far from taking up space, they actually add more usable space-rod/gun holders underneath, and you actually walk on them. On the way out to the blind, that's where people sit too. Get em wide enough to use. You'll be glad you did!

Re: Full floor or gutters? Catwalk or not?
If you leave gaps for water to drain in a full floor, you have to worry about buildup in the gutter under the floor. The gutter size depends on long brace placement. And if you get a hook? Do you want to cut your floor out to bang it out?
