There's a shaft that comes out of the rear of the engine bout a inch long by the governor. It has a price that links to your carb on it. It will move about a eigth of a rotation. What's it called and whats its job?

If I am understanding you right, that is your governor, its job is to govern the motor. I sure would like to know what you are calling the governor.

I was thinking the govanor was the the slide with the screw on it.

Yes I understand that I'm curious what's on the other side of the govorner shaft? And does it do anything internally

centrifugal counter weights, The governor rod is shaped like a hockey stick on the inside and as the weights spin they get thrown outward lifting a small tappet like shaft and it push against the governor rod. the faster the engine spins the greater the force.

I've recently did some ****** rigging to the governor linkage till some parts get here. The butterfly valve to the govaner is opening and shutting fine. But after I rev it up it's slow to idle down once it does it does fine??

That's awsome. Preciate that. You wouldn't happen to have a pic or diagram of how the linkage, and springs are supposed to be hooked up from the all thread on the throttle to carb? Anyway thanks again
