 Re: Tuner
I just did everything to mine, love it, fuel mileage is way better. Money well spent! Lots and lots of power, from a dead stop i can completely turn the truck around in the middle of the road lol

 Re: Tuner
I put the S&B intake and like it, any little bit helps. If you put an intake do a dry kit, not the wet kit witch means you have to oil the filter. The wet kit is not good for the diesels because of the Turbo. Do you have the 6.7?

 Re: Tuner
How much did it all cost? Mine's a Chevy, but I'm sure it's about the same.

 Re: Tuner
It depends on what all you put on it and how much research you do on the parts and the prices. For my full kit with EGR delete, full 5" FLo-Pro exhaust with 6" tip, S&B intake, H&S minimax with hot unlock tune your looking at close to 3k.
What year chevy are you driving.

 Re: Tuner
When the EPA nailed these aftermarket exhaust and tuners on diesels, their prices sky rocketed. Its hard to find companies that'll sell the stuff to you outright. But they are out there and finding the hot unlocks can be challenging. My best friend is a dealer for H&S and all diesel performance parts.
After we put all my stuff on i made a trip to Gator-tail the day after and was getting 19.6 running 74mph as opposed to my 16 average on the highway. So it does make a difference

 Re: Tuner
Just my .02 stay away from anything other than factory intake tubes and filters. There is 2 ways to get more airflow, more surface area or bigger holes in the filter. Since there isnt any more room under most modern trucks hood to get a filter box any bigger to make any difference the aftermarket companys go to filters big bigger holes. So you will get more air flow but with it you get more dirt flow.

 Re: Tuner
Mine is a 2011. The 2008 didn't have the DPF's, did they? It's more money than I'm going to spend right now, especially since I'll lose my warranty. Down the road, I'd like to see those fuel economy gains and power for towing.

 Re: Tuner
I'm wantin to put a tuner on mine. I don't know if I wanna do 4 or 5" exhaust. And I want to get cold air intake. I got a 7.3. Will it mess up my tranny when I do all the upgrades.

 Re: Tuner
FD the only difference between the 4" and 5" is the sound, your not gonna gain anything performance wise, i had 4" on my DMax and now i have 5" on my 6.7 scorpion. Love the sound. My DMax didn't have near the turbo Bark that this truck has but they both sound bad ass straight piped.
I could talk diesels all night, been in and around them, inside and out

 Re: Tuner
my 08 6.4 has dpf delete, and edge tuner. great mileage but still not happy with the torque. i hate it when i 'need' to pull out in front of someone and and the sob wont go bc it sits there building boost before it launches. now when that sucker launches you better be holdin on! i just wish the diesels could have take off power more like the gas without having to spend 3k on them.
