 Air compressor
I'm looking to buy a air compressor, probably a 5hp. Any specific makes to stay away from? I don't want to buy a piece of shiat and find out after the fact. Thx

 Re: Air compressor
Stay away from harbor freight, lol. I received one as a present and exchanged it four times. Never got one to work.
Had a craftsman now for a few years and its never given me any trouble. Think its a 33 gallon. Don't remember the hp, but don't think its as big as what you're looking for.

 Re: Air compressor
Ive been using an Ingersoll Rand for 7 years heavy use in my shop 5hp 20 or 21 cfm's and only thing ive changed is the pressure switch. I use IR synthetic compressor oil and change the air filter and oil regularly. I purchased it from northern tool.

 Re: Air compressor
Had a 25 gallon Craftsman (red, not black) for about 18 years, but when it finally quit I blew out the backside of the cylinder. I've been using a smaller (twin stack) Harbor Freight for few years now. It works fine for smaller jobs, but I miss my Craftsman.

 Re: Air compressor
Turns out I'm gonna be able to go smaller. Just need to be able to run 12-13 cfms and that's allowing a lot of wiggle room
