Post Submarine!!!!!
Hey fella's I had a mishap last weekend and my boat including the 23 Vanguard GDLt was upside down in the water for about 18-20hrs. Had the mind to cut the engine just before we rolled so it wasn't running when it went in. Got it to my mechanic a couple of days later and he cleaned her up changed the oil 3 times with new filters every time, new air cleaner, new plugs, and took the carb apart and cleaned it. He also did a compression test, and leak down test and it passed both with great numbers. Got it home and it runs great no hiccups at all. My mechanic suggested replacing all the electrical parts starter, wires, ect. Im going to do that. Im just wondering if there is anything else you guys could think of that might give me trouble. My mechanic is thorough and i trust him, but he dosn't have a MM or work on them much....

Thanks
simon

That should about cover it.I sank a small go devil that had been under a couple of other times and thats all that we did and it was still running until Katrina killed the engine but the frame is still good. That engine and frame was about 15 years old when it was finally taken out.

After you run it for a couple of hours check da oil at da drain plug to see if any more water accumulated if da oil looks milky change da oil one more time. I only say this b/c there are many crevices in side da engine dat can hold moisture. Only reason I know dis is cause I use to be a pro at sinkin boats before I figured out it was a talent dat wouldn't get me far in life.
