 MY Kaboom PICS.....
Well, things turned bad on Friday. Was cruising down the lake at around 4100 rpms as I usually do and heard a horrible metal on metal noise. Killed the engine, got towed back to the ramp. Lost the valve on the exhaust side of the #2 head. Jacked up the piston, push rods, and spark plug. To say the least, BAD timing as I was taking all next week off to hunt.....

 Re: MY Kaboom PICS.....
I heard bad things about the EVT kit. Though, I had one that CoonDik put on and maintanced for me. At around 40 hours, my valves on both sides got real Loose. Coondik tightened them up and did some majic, and I put another 50 hours. I just got rid of my motor and I had over 100 hours on the stage 1. Sorry to hear what happened. And of course it will happen at the beginning of hunting season.

 Re: MY Kaboom PICS.....
Nothing... I ordered it from EVT, and Coondik put it all on. I guess I was just lucky.

 Re: MY Kaboom PICS.....
It's not the stage 2 it has to do with the crappy stock 2 piece valves. The same thing happened to mine with about 30 hours on a stage 2

 Re: MY Kaboom PICS.....
Having or finding loose valves has nothing to do with EVT or anyone else. This is a common issue and it's why Briggs suggest you have your valve clearances checked periodically.

 Re: MY Kaboom PICS.....
I feel your pain.. The big surprise will be when you pull the other head and find that some of the chunks passed through the intake and dinged up the other piston/head as well. Cost me about $1000 to fix it properly and get back on the water and that was doing some trading for a couple 4 hr heads.. Had the heads worked and this time I had EVT install the 1 pc stainless valves.. Good luck

 Re: MY Kaboom PICS.....
The pictures all have a strange similarity, they all dropped stock valves. So correct me if i'm wrong but using stainless aftermarket valves should be the ticket to having strong heads.
