 Shell Suggestions
Just put the purchase on a Winchester SX2 with a kicks mod choke, im wanting to pattern it, with about 5 or 6 different shells.. I already know the cheaper will probably shoot better, and I would rather start shooting cheaper shells anyways. Whats some shells yall would recommend.. Ive hurd good things about sportsman steel, and then a lot of bad things. Hurd a lot of good things about nitro steel, and no bad things. Lots of bad about Kent, etc. What shells would yall recommend based off of yalls experience, from 1 to 5?

Fiocchi 1 1/5 ounce 3" mags. Starting shooting them this year i like the way they pattern. I'm shooting a SX-3 with a Calson light mod choke. Not bad for $10.99 a box.

 Re: Shell Suggestions
hope you have better luck with that gun than my buddy did, couldn't even take it on a sand bar. had a lot of jams with it. ive always shot experts because they have patterened the best from every gun we tested, we shot almost every major brand and cheap shell and the experts shot the best. I bought a couple boxes of the drylok magnums last weekend and I think I will keep trying em for a little while. 16.00 a box

 Re: Shell Suggestions
I shoot sx3 wit kicks choke. I like the way the federals pattern. Nitro steal does well also. I shot a box of winchesters this weekend they didn't do to bad seems like they have lil more kick to them for some reason. I'm sticking wit federal shot it should work well for ur combo

 Re: Shell Suggestions
Over the past few years I have shot the blue box federals, estates, sportsmans, and kents. Shot cases of each, and I prefer the Kents. Kents are the cleanest shell out of the bunch, and I never get powder in my eyes. I shot a box of Estates I had left over the other day, and I got powder in my eyes 3 times. The Federals are dirty as hell, but shoot just fine if you dont mind cleaning your gun more often. I dont know how they all pattern in my gun, I can kill the same with all of them. Shoot a Mueller Decoy, or Passing choke, depending on the situation. I've shot a case of Kents this year, with no complaints. I've heard people complain about them after getting them wet, but I dont let my shells sit under water. If its deep enough for my jacket pockets to get wet, then I wear my jacket inside my waders, and problem solved.

 Re: Shell Suggestions
I always shot experts out of my 870 with Briley's choke and had no problems killing, put the same choke in my sx3 and they pattern good in it I have just been shooting Kent's because my brother gave me a couple boxes.

 Re: Shell Suggestions
granted we hunt alot of timber that could be easily hunted with a 410, but i have been shootin the remington hypersonic 3" #3's (absolutely no need for 3 1/2's) and they have done great, especially for cheaper shells.

I have the same exact gun and choke and shot 3" Rios #4 during teal and killed a lot of birds. I shot some Xperts this past weekend and killed with them 3.5" #2.

 Re: Shell Suggestions
Kent 3" #1's pattern great with my Kick's mod and knock a goose stone cold dead. If you're constantly getting your shells wet, you're doing something wrong.

 Re: Shell Suggestions
I was about to say... Did you call hypersonics cheap? So far its down to patterning Xperts, Kents, Rios, Federals, and Nitro Steel. Shot the sportsman steel this morning and was not impressed.. I hit a grey at about 35 yards twice and watched him keep truckin.. Shot a wood duck at what seemed to be point blank range (no more than 10 yards), knocked him down, feathers everywhere, went to get him and the MF jumped up and flew off like a duck out of a duck slough accompanied by one bad duck killing fool..

 Re: Shell Suggestions
I shoot sx3 with pattern master choke... Blue box federals are all I shoot.. They are dirty but I don't mind cleaning my gun, they pattern great and are cheap... I shot Kent's and did not pattern as well... Remington sportsman steel would be my second choice...
