 Craig's list
I learned a tough lesson selling my boat. Never post anything for sale on Craig's list. You will get bombarded with scam artist wanting to pay you on pay pal and have a mover come get the boat. Probably a good 5 or 6 a day. Lessoned learned.

 Re: Craig's list
Don't post your email address and don't post your phone number with all numbers.
Helps some but still have a few dedicated scammers that will try their luck.
504-xxx-xxxx...type it in like five oh 4, blah blah blah.
Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone.

 Re: Craig's list
This has been going on for years. The other scam is they send you a check made out for more than you ask. The politely ask that once the check clears could pleas send the overage back to them. The check clears in 3 day but Ii can be found to be fraudulent whiten 30 days and the bank bills you for it. I play along and get the bad check, taking one off the market at a time. Most are from Nigeria or Nigerians living in Canada. There is nothing the Feds can do. So f with them if you want to or do like Blu^ said.

 Re: Craig's list
I've bought and sold stuff off craigslist over the years. I have a separate email account just to use for these types of things. It's not an email I check, only when I'm trying to sell something so I really don't give a rip about any spam. The ones I see I just ignore. Also, like Blue said... I always post NO EMAILS and my number spelled out instead of numbers. Helps a lot.

 Re: Craig's list
I've always had good luck buying and selling on clist. I think you are ok as long as everything is done in person with cash. No bs.

 Re: Craig's list
Good advice on the email address and phone numbers. Anytime I've sold something on craigslist, I don't post an email or phone number. I ask them to email me their contact information and I'll follow up with them and coordinate a time to run the boat, ATV, etc. Mud motors/rigs generate a LOT of interest from a bunch of tire kickers who want to negotiate without having seen the rig. I don't negotiate via email and ask that they show up and start stackin' up Franklins and I'll negotiate.

 Re: Craig's list
I used a different email than my pay pal email. They emailed me through the Craig's list email.
