 Pretty cool experience.
Me and my dad went to run our traps and as we were pulling up to the ramp I looked back and saw a Bald Eagle flying towards us. As it got closer I notices it had a fish. Looks like a long ways in the picture but he wasn't about 40 yards or so behind the boat. Don't get to see many Eagles around here and thought it was pretty cool to see.
I've seen 2 different ones (i believe) in that area. But I've seen 2-3 in a group in Felsenthal.

One of the lakes I hunt, they pick up any ducks that make it out in the middle of the lake before they fall. They'll get dead ones if they float off before you can get to em, but they pick up a cripple quick like.

 Re: Pretty cool experience.
Cool stuff. Growing up in southern wi, we used to have to make a trip to the northwoods for the privilege of seeing one. Now, we have them pretty thick right where I grew up. Population has really grown. Love watching them. Really awesome to see them do their mating ritual. The two birds lock talons in the air and spiral downward until they release just before they hit ground. Nature at it's best.
And yes, I have lost a few ducks to them on the mighty miss. I agree with baron, seems like they hear the shotgun blasts, then hang around waiting for an easy meal. I thought I was gonna get creamed by one when racing it to a cripple once. Son of a gun beat me to the punch. Couldn't have been more than 5 yards in front of me when he snatched it.

A juvenile bald eagle will be more brown all over.

 Re: Pretty cool experience.
One of the weirdest hunts I ever had involved a juvi blad eagle. Fuckers are everywhere down here. Anyways, we were hunting a hard falling tide...and I guess the short bus for ducks was running that day, because we shot a pintail with a club foot, a one eyed ring neck that buzzed the blind at like 5 feet and I called and it turned and come back and died (I soon after found out the first time he passed it was on the side that he didn't have an eye ), and a wigeon with a hole in its bottom jaw so that it's tongue was growing through his bottom lip and looked like it had been like that a while. Anyways, we shot 12 or 13 or so then we lost water. Big tides where we were, so what was once 2' of water was now a sand bar. All 10 dozen of my nice pretty greenhead gear dekes were sitting on their sides in the sand. Now, I always bring one of my paw paw's old ass ugly faded flambeau decoys with me for good luck. So we're sitting on this sandbar bullshittin, when all of a sudden we hear some big ass wings flapping...my padnuh said "holy shit it's a fucking bald eagle!" Sho nuff, that young dumb bastard had swooped in and tried to skeef one of the decoys! And of all the 119 lifelike real looking decoys, he tried to snipe old faithful flambeau mallard. Craziest shit I ever saw, and about 15 yards away. It was impressive. Helluva day. One eyed ringer, one legged pinnie, fucked up wigeon, and a thieving ass bald eagle.

I was hunting toledo a few years back and had a hawk come out of no where and grab my mojo, he hit it so hard it knocked it over. Scared the crap out of me.
