 Charles Leonard boats
Has anyone recently had a boat built from him lately? Ive been getting the run around for the past 2 1/2 months from him of when my hull will be finished but hes never started on it. The 3 times ive gone there its always an excuse; oh my welder got a DWI and im working by myself, the crimp machine broke, im slam busy making repairs on equipment. All the while ive seen 8-10 different boats hes working on roll thru his fab shop. Dont tell me it will be ready in 10 days but when i stop by to check on it to maybe add something to the build theres nothing there. I work a 7/7 land base job so i usually stop by every other time im home to check on progress of the built but still nothing to show for it

 Re: Charles Leonard boats
From what I know, he's a very good builder. But my bro in law, who lives in Pierre Part, say that its hard to keep him out of the bar room. I don't know him personally, just through my bor in law. I know that he build my 22 footer with a 225. If its true what he says, I copuld only imagine what he could build is he really got after it.

 Re: Charles Leonard boats
I have a few friends that have boats from Charles. Their boats are really nice and never had any " customer service issues". Having said that I've heard some stories. I hear when we does start one he knocks it out pretty fast. All of his boats that Ive seen though are nice rigs

 Re: Charles Leonard boats
He did the same thing to my buddy. So my buddy went rite down the road to Rene Gros. He builds so pretty nice boats.

 Re: Charles Leonard boats
It all depends on how backed up they are. Hell not a mile down the road, Kip gaspard has a shop, Lennis Blanchard on the other side of Pierre Part. Casey at Sportsman Fab, Extreme Metal Fab (buddy has one of his hulls), Martinez Welding (Tugga). There are about 10 builders in a 30-40 mile span. depending on price and how long you want to wait is up to you. Or just do like I did, build your own.

 Re: Charles Leonard boats
I spoke with the guy at Extreme Metal Fabrication and really considered having him build one. I am just to far away and decided to buy a boat at a dealer. But, If I was dead set on a custom boat I'd give him a call.

 Re: Charles Leonard boats
I tried calling and emailing EMF at least 20 times and couldn't get in touch with anybody. I can't do business with someone I can't get in touch with. I called Charles once and he answered and was very helpful and had a good price so I decided to go with him. He is very busy but him and his guys do build an awesome boat.

 Re: Charles Leonard boats
Finally seen some progress on my boat build today. Went ride to Belle River this morning to see if he had started & the boat was laid out. Now that he doesnt have any large hull in there hopefully he wont be too long with mine
