Have any of yalls women folks ever sat down with a calculation device and roughly figured up about how much $$$ it cost per duck you kill?? Boats, equipment, gas, etc... mine did one time and 3 words came out of her mouth... That's. Fucking. Ridiculous. Any a yall got any similar stories?

Thank n bout selling out and just take a week long trip bout Sept to Canada every year kill 500 ducks and call it a good year... My old lady tried to make me choose between huntin and her. I told her your not gonna like the answer. She was mad I spent 1500 out of our account for huntin she would flip s**t if sheknew I had a secret account I spent 4000 out of.

I was engaged for 6 months and she said I went hunting & fishing too much I jumped ship and swam for the shore she's out there somewhere amongst the sharks. Get one that will go with you and you've got a keeper!!

I will say my ole lady went with me last weekend and she loved it and wants to start going more often

I got half a camp for Christmas from mine. I think I'm good.

My wife figures it is a small price to pay, at whatever the cost, just to get my boys and me out of the house! If we're not hunting, we're just bored, making a mess of the house, and irritating her and the girls.

Wouldn't even want to know b/c i know it's a bad buisness deal lol. But the heart wants what the heart wants ......

Outside of Food and Shelter, our hobbies are the most expensive things we do. The cost of a duck matters little; it is the quality of life that is important. If you AND your wife have a good life and the children aren't starving what does it matter if a duck costs $20 or $200 or $2000?

Lets see:

New duck boat: $12.000
New truck: $ 36,000 (to pull the new boat)
Shotgun shells: $ 225
2doz new decoys: $ 65

Then duck season comes around and the wife's mother gets sick and you don't hunt but once and then kill only 2 ducks because you are helping your mother-in-law and couldn't get away. Did the ducks cost $25,000 each?

If my wife asked how much they cost, I would probably say: WTF kind of a question is that? They didn't cost as much as they could have and they cost more than if I went hunting more often.

I try to give away every duck I shoot. I even pick or breast them in order to give them away. I love to shoot them but don't like eating them very much.
