 Tunnel hull
I am going to buy a new boat and motor . I was thinking about getting a outboard with a Jack plate and with a tunnel hull , can someone school me on one like how shallow will they run ect. . I had a prodrive on a f86 before . Was going back with another mud motor . thanks for any help

Had a G3 1860 tunnel with pods and 90 Yamaha with hydrolic Jack plate - would run all day in 4" water and if soft bottomed could get up in 5" to 6" if you started by running in a tight circle....
Tunnels work better on bigger hulls with bigger engines than they do on small ones....
Had a buddy with a 2272 with pods and 175 Yamaha that would run shallower and get up in less water than mine would....
However tunnel hulls and MMs don't work together worth a darn.....

I was looking to get a 18/54 with a gator . We run some long distance sometimes that why I was thing about a outboard . Just trying to make sure I think of everything this time .

If you are going to have a tunnel i wouldn't put a jackplate on it

Jack plate will preform better in the long run. Just put all your weight up front to compensate for the minor squatting
