make sure they weld a doubler plate to the boat first them reattach the bow eye. The doubler plate will help spread the load out so that doesn't happen again.

Brad,
If you are around, bring it to me. I will fix it for Free. Also, I have some plate over here to make your doubler plate.

Uncle-J

How are you putting that kind of pressure on the eye? Winching the heavy hull up or is it happening during travel? Run that thing up on the trailer. I don't have to winch mine very often.

I think I seen Brad pushing some skimmers with his boat. He pullls off of the bow. All that PD power can put a strain on the frames thus pulling the eye on the bow of the boat. I hope this clears everything up.

Uncle-J

Try putting an extra strap around the front of the boat and tongue of the trailer when traveling. I had the same thing happened, pretty sure its from the boat bouncing around while driving and you keep stressing the welds on the hook. Something is gunna give sooner or later.

X2 on the earlier comment on boat bouncing on the trailer.

Problem is a lot of the flat front or even semi-v boats don't really fit on the trailer stops/roller by the winch very well.

Mine did it on two boats. Both boats I went to a double plate and replaced roller with a piece of carpeted 2x6 to give the flat part of the boat a solid piece to rest on.

Like stump said the strap is just there to keep the boat from rolling off and assist in getting it on the trailer. The trailer needs to be fit to let the boat ride secure...

The reason why it ripped, is due to it being put on backwards. The way it was put on caused a hinge like presure on the front. If it would have been put on right, it would have never cracked.

I put it on the correct way.
