Post Arrow wobbling in flight?
I got this bow in a trade, it was already set up it's a Hoyt turbohawk with hha sight an whisker biscuit. I have searched an still not found a good answer but when I shoot I can see the arrow has a little wobble in flight. Sight is set dead on. It was dry fired by brother on accident so not sure if that coulda did something. Anything will help. Thank you!

I had a bow shop work on mine for the very same thing. They did a paper test and made some adjustments and it took care of it. I think they adjusted the arrow rest? I dont use my bow much and it was a few years ago but it should be no big thing.

Several things could be out of tune. Bring it to a bow shop if you've never messed with one. I'm sure nothing major, just some adjustments need to be made.

Also make sure your arrows are matched to your poundage.

Does your rest look like it's movable? Some of them don't really. But take it to a bow shop, easy fix. Do your arrows hit the target kinda sideways? Not perfectly straight

I am gonna call the local bow shop tomorrow an dry to drop it off. I don't know much about them an my arrows do hit sideways compared to my buddies when he shoots. Thanks for the replies.

Its more than likely your rest, or the adjustment with it..

What's a good rest for em? When the arrow is nocked the arrow isn't level from nock point to rest if that matters.

You need to get a rip cord code red drop away and have them install and paper tune it

If you have access to a bow square that would solve your problems with your knocking point. If not the bow shop will.. And when you do a paper test.. Be sure and try to release the arrow with little or no mistakes.. Because if you are not releasing properly or in good form, that will affect your paper test..

Yep. I shoot with a smooth glove on my left hand to keep from twisting the bow and shoot open handed!

Schmo, it not much of a difference in being level but yes you can see the arrow kick to the left just barely. An Ima just take it to the shop tomorrow an let him fix it. He should be able to help with shooting form if not correct. This is with the bow standing pretty level if you can see how the arrow is resting.

How much are you pulling? And the arrows hitting the target crooked is the rest being off center 99% of the time.. The wobbling in mid air could be several things though.. If your spine isn't matched to your poundage, it will cause the arrows to wobble too much.. If your pullin more than 70 lbs our going to want a 340 spine (more stiff). if your in the 60-70# range, go with a 400 spine ( a little less stiff). It could have nothing to do with the arrows, but most of the folks I have seen who complain about arrows wobbling in flight are shooting mismatched spines.

By "torque" are you talking about him holding the bow off-kilter?

Paper tune it at the bow shop as was mentioned. It's a nock/rest adjustment unless you have some underspined arrows.

I am pulling 60 lbs an for the spine I'm not really sure he gave me 12 arrows he said 6 are good ones an then 6 that are for just shootin. But when you say 400 spine is that same as 400 grain?

What kind of arrow and what numbers on on them? Don't pay too much attention to the arrow not being square on the string, many knocking points are slightly higher on the string than the rest when not drawn. Paper test is a really good way to fine tune it, and even better with a slick shaft (no vanes/feathers).

Id be surprised if he could tell that his arrow is wobbling. He is probably seeing the fetching end kick out because the bow is out of tune. You need a high speed camera to notice the shaft wobbling (that's what she said).

If the bow been dry fired there is a big possibility that the cams are off of time (one the only problem with a dual cam bow) it's not the type of rest because a whisker biscuit is the most consistent shooting rest for hunting and most forgiving. The bow definitely needed to be retuned and possibly restrung.

So the whisker biscuit can't be out of adjustment? Let me guess, you take it out of the package and just mount it? ......and it's more constant then a fall away rest? Do this guy a favor and don't post when you are putting out bad info.

400 arrows should be fine for 60lbs. As far as arrow wobble, you can see it if the rest or nocking point is off. Your arrow won't set level, I think it's supposed to be 1/4 or 3/8 high on the string end. I can't remember but if you arrow is hitting to left then you follow the tip and move it just a little bit to the right. Works best if you are about 40yrds or more. That way arrow it's fully recovered our of bow. Whisker biscuit is a good reliable rest. I shoot the axs titanium on my hoyt, and the qad ultra on my elite. Both are great. Probably like the qad a little better, because it's easier to take rest back down I'd you don't shoot, you can check them out, lots a great rests out there

Let us know what the problem was iam curious.. By looking at the photo your knocking point might be a little high but without seeing it in person can't tell.. The bow shop will have you fixed up.. Best of luck.
