Post Good cheap scopes??????
Just got a Winchester model 70 30-06 for a steal of a deal and want a cheap scope for the time being. don't have a lot of money to spend so don't go showing me scopes that are going to break the bank. I really don't deer hunt much so just something for target shooting and deer if I deside to go. Thanks for the help!

Take a look at Redfield. Pretty nice scopes for cheaper. Not much but they are cheaper.

Red field, BSA used to be good and cheap now they are just cheap. Center point isn't bad or weaver.

Ive honestly had good luck with some of the higher end Tasco and Bushnell scopes. But they don't get much cheaper than those. I would stay away from BSA & Leapers but that's just me. Watch Natchez shooters supply. they always have good deals on scopes.

Nikon pro staff is the only scope I have that I can leave in the barn all winter and it still holds zero and doesn't fog up in the cold - a really good scope for the money

I have about a dozen leupolds and that's all I've ever had until recently i bought a .17 and didn't want to spend much on a scope so i ended up getting a vortex and am very happy with it. Even considering taking the leupold off my 22 -250 and trying another vortex.

I would look into swift.. I've got a pair of binos and the scope on my little model 7 260 is a swift. I carry that gun through hell and it gets bounced around way more than it should and I have literally not had to remove the windage and elevation
Caps since I zeroed it 5 years ago. Its no Khales, but It's good affordable glass IMO

Nikon prostaff 5 on my 35 wheelen. I think it's just as clear or clearer than my my Nikon Monarch on my other rifle.

Check out opticsplanet.com. The last two scopes I bought from them had free shipping and was something like 50-60$ cheaper than local stores.

Simmons White tail expedition 6-18 is a good scope for cheap. Had one on a 270 since 98 and it's still as clear as the Leupold

I have a SWFA 10x scope on a tactical .308 and it is a really nice and clear scope for the price.

Depends on what your "cheap" budget is. All of them will work in a pinch but some of the less expensive scopes are still decent to really good quality. The leupold scopes in the less expensive models are still guaranteed for life and Nikon makes good quality in reasonable prices. Most any modern rifles will shoot better than the shooter but scopes are definitely better as the price rises.

^^what he said. If your on a budget make sure you shop on line. With the amount of money you will save maybe you can get a lil better scope.

^ this is what I do with guns. Goto a big shop and figure out what I want and then buy online. Can save a bunch of money.

I used to shoot with the high end high dollar optics until I got ahold of a Vortex.. Honestly, for the majority of sub 200yd medium game targets, the Vortex is all anybody would ever need. I've stretched mine out to 800 on anoher rifle and it's still pretty good. Just can't beat them and their CS for the money. Matter of fact I just picked up another one for a 10/22 the other day.

Bushnell has come a long way. I have 2 Swift scopes and they have a lifetime warranty and are great for the money. Most of my scopes leupold or Zeus on my higher end stuff.

Did use Nikon as a "cheap" scope but after trying a couple of Vortex, the Nikon's got sold...

You can get Zeiss scopes for a reasonable price if you look around also.

If you want the best and gots the money, Nightforce is the way to go.

Keep in mind some scopes gather light better in low light conditions. A few extra minutes of being able to see through your scope could mean the difference of getting that big buck and not.
