 Veterans Day Hunt
So Me and a friend that I was deployed with got a great oppurtunity to hunt some huge SC bucks for Veterans Day. It was a 3 day all included guided hunt absolutly free to us thanks to the SC Forestry Commision and South Carolina QDMA. There was 6 Veterans and we all had the oppertunity to kill some great quality deer. The first hunt I was sitting on a food plot and had 2 trails on either side of me. This will be the most memorable hunt I have ever been on, I saw over 20 deer and 12 turkeys. I had a huge 8pt come out and he had an incredibly tall rack prob 6 1/2 years old but I let him walk because there was pictures of 10 and 12pts. Then all I saw after that was small 4 and 3 pts also a bobcat that was chased off by a 3 pt. On the last morning I shot a very nice 6pt that had an 18" spread and he's the biggest 6 ive seen, 5 1/2 years old. I got him directly behind me at about 25 yds with me 30-06. Then 2 hours later what I thought was a doe came out about 150 yds away and I got excited and shot with out verifying and it turned out to be a button buck which I feel pretty bad about, I like to practice QDMA. On the bright side since I can't take back the shot he'll make some good jerky! That was the first time I've shot 2 deer in one sit. Here's some pictures
