Re: Miss Me Yet? I hope things start to turn around soon. I am a little fearful that the worst is yet to come. Louisiana always has a delayed effect or an upswing in the economy or a recession. I am hearing about more and more folks in my area either losing jobs, or hours have been cutback. Also, alot of projects in the works that just don't seem to come about.
My wife is finance manager for a small city and sales taxes are down 15-20% from this time last year. Local school boards are the same way. All the local school boards in the State are about a year out from depleting all their reserve funds. After that major cutbacks AKA as RIF. Reduction in Force, technical jargon for pink slip with no return.
What burns my ass is all the bailouts both personal and business should have been a normal and natural course of the economy to let them flop. Now what we have is a whole generation across the board that has not learned shit from this other than there is no penalty for the way you spend your money or operate a business.
The Stimulus plan is not working.
