 Re: The Big Beast Pirogue
You go bootzz... Don't let em give you a hard time..
If that works for you and it is all you can afford, you enjoy yourself and rock on!
Pretty neat little set up you have....
Post some pics when you get the new motor working.....
Why don't you try to get you some long tail plans (they sell them on ebay) and make you up a little long tail motor with one of the power heads you got floating around.... If you can make this work, you can put one of those together....
Good luck!

 Re: The Big Beast Pirogue
I got to go with caddo on this one. The kid is tryin his best. He's young and still learnin. I give him credit for not bein afraid to fail. He's not backin down from the criticism. I'm sure eventually he'll figure it all out, and maybe one day, he'll have a nice lil mud rig that he built with scraps around the garage.
If you noticed, he's even trying to use all these things ... ,,, ??? cuz some of you's made fun of him for not being an english major.
If at first you don't succeed, try, and try again. Just keep workin at it bud.
That prop actually looks like the blade from an edger, but whatever. He's usin what he has. Looked like from another post, he's gettin a bigger motor. Also said he has a mm prop for a 9hp that he was gonna try to make fit. I say more power to him. He don't have the bank accounts that we have, and he's tryin his best to fit in.

 Re: The Big Beast Pirogue
Dude I commend ya for making what you have work, hell that's pretty much my broke ass story too, but that prop scares me. Aluminum ain't the strongest thing for a prop, and I'm sure that thing vibrates it's tail off, and if that thing came apart while you were gunning it, a very pissed off piece of aluminum is gonna be coming your way.

I am very impressed with your little thing you have going on, keep it up little bro cause we all at one time were putting things together and seeing if they work when we were little. I too use to do the same thing!

I'm surprised it pushes that fast, and hey if it works for you, I'd probably do whatever I had to do to get a duck too. Good luck dude.

 Re: The Big Beast Pirogue
LOL Thanks Guys. Well I got my new motor earlier today and have trying to blow it up since i got it. Come to find out it is a sear's motor called the ESKA which was made with a tecumseh power head. Mine was manufactured in 1971 and is in kind of rough condition but will run. After alot of trial and error and i mean ALOT. I found that my condencer is going out. I cleaned up my points and everything else and it will spark every so often and i think my condencer is going out so i asked my dad what he thought and he said that it sounds to be right and when we rigged it to check it i was right. The numb nut that owned it before me messed up my carb so now im on the hunt for the correct needle. I got the carb to work and it works fine but it's not right. The only reason i got it to work is from passed experience and knowing how these old "bowl" carbs work.ALSO i found out it is a 5hp and not a 6hp which should still be plenty to push me. Well tomorrow im gonna try and blow it up some more when i get a new condencer from a friend of ours that owns a small engine's shop(hopefully he has an extra carb like mine to!!). I will also try to post some pics of my finished transom and my motor even tho it looks like CHIT.
