Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
I'm wondering if anyones started working on the new EFI from briggs? working on programmer? or have you added other parts and the stock tune accepted it?

There are a few other threads on this already. Please go read those instead of starting this up in another one.

Do the mods you want, install a WEGO wideband sensor or similar in the exhaust, increase fuel pressure until you achieve your preferred AFR at full load.

Re: Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
yes - ML, B/S EFI should be close to this, I think. I hope it's not injecting fuel into the block. I think what he means by engine is combustion chamber

Re: Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
I agree with leaving them stock. I just see so many people asking about modding the EFi engines, and I feel that an aftermarket ECM or someone going through the work to build a software system to tune the stock ECM is a long ways off. It's something the MM industry has not dealt with. It's a huge investment upfront to develop that technology.

Re: Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
As long as it's just heads and exhaust I would think that increasing the pressure would work just fine. You aren't changing the curve at which the engine creates power, just raising it I would think. As long as nobody goes to a radical cam design or a very high compression I would t think it would be an issue as long as you could get your mixture right.

Re: Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
My buddy who just ordered a 37EFI on a GT 1748, and who isn't tech-savvy and still has a flip-phone, mentioned he might put an aftermarket exhaust on his 37EFI.
Any [real] benefit to increased exhaust flow with the stock mapping, other than getting his eardrums blown out?

Re: Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
No real benefit to an aftermarket exhaust without anything else done no matter how the fuel gets in the heads..

Re: Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
His witty retort was "then how does a turbo-back exhaust allow better performance on a diesel truck without a tuner" and I said "How the hell should I know, I'm not a Duramax mechanic"
Maybe he's just itching for a loud motor.
Discuss.

Re: Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
On a big hp motor, you might pick up a few hp, which may be noticeable. On a lawnmower engine, you may pick up .00001hp which is not likely to be noticeable.

Re: Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
I can't crush his hopes and dreams with that response, CB. Even I know that everything is relative when we're talking HP to weight ratio. The small hp increase he sees on his Duramax is being applied to an 8000lb truck not a 500lb boat.
Give me something better than that to make his head explode.

Re: Any one working on the 37 EFI performance parts yet?
LM2's suck..... I've had three different setups from Innovate and sent every one back. Not just sensor problems either... I had an LC1 in my personal truck (turbocharged LS setup) and it was slightly better, but still was very glitchy ended up swapping it to the NGK setup after burning a head and piston up pretty bad. I didn't have a real "ragged edge" type setup either. 780rwhp 347ci iron block with good heads and a Precision 78mm turbo, all in an 02 Ext cab Silverado. It ran pretty good though I have tuned 1000rwhp setups with this one and it's always been right on the money with the portable setup at the dyno (usually an LM2) it's less expensive and it holds up better. I installed one in a mud truck that belongs to a friend and it gets pelted with mud and pressure washer weekly and keeps going... The display is easy to glance at and read on the fly too. http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/products/p ... ce/afx.asp

Tiny tach makes the connector cable from the engine's diagnostics plug to the laptop(usb). The part that scars me is if folk who don't know how to tune, get there hands on some software that can eventually reprogram the ecm, you will see a lot of failures.
