Same as what Gary said. During the cold months I like to put a 30 in for the pilot.

 Re: Mikuni question
Mitschke please document and take pics of what you do. How are you adapting the Mikuni to the engine?

 Re: Mikuni question
Raise it back up a notch and try a 22.5 pilot. Every vert. we have done liked the 22.5 pilot. Cold weather may require a 25.

 Re: Mikuni question
.065 decked heads, evt intake, evt exhaust, Mikuni HSR 42
165 main, 22.5 pilot w/mixture screw 1.25 turns off bottom, one notch below center on standard needle... sucks a fat one coming off idle though, always has. can't just mash it & go... gotta use kind & gentle words and once you got it convinced you'll play nice it'll start to go then you can beat it up.

 Re: Mikuni question
I know der ain't shit to it, but der also lies an uncertainty that it don't run worth shit an I have to swap it back. Still ain't a big deal, but after countless case gaskets, cracked blocks, cracked sumps, blown engines, etc.... For once this mofo is running without any real problems to speak of and it's crawfish season so I ain't touching it if I ain't got to. Just sick of wrenchin on shit, that's all.

 Re: Mikuni question
Mitschke, Mukuni makes a great carb, Your going to like it myboy. My only dislike is the cable bracket and the white nylon sheave causing cable strands to break. Someone needs to come up with a better design and do away with all that unnecessary linkage crap and reroute it point A= cable to point B= throttle arm 1/4 sheave. hint, hint.

 Re: Mikuni question
Someone needs to return pm's.... Hint.... Hint....
Lol
I've been trying to come up with a design I like but I really just haven't have time to make one. Just like the reverse thing.
I am not a patient as you and I don't wanna make all of that shit by hand. Then I don't wanna mess with tooling in a cnc, because I Would have to use personal stuff here at school. But, if I went home I would have full run at my neighbors shop and I wouldn't have to buy tooling.
The more you hound me, the more i wanna finish something lol
