Post Motor upgrade
Any one care to help me out?

Im getting ready to purchase a 35 horse MB. I am wanting a little more juice then just 35 HP. What are some options for upgrades and what will each do as far as adding HP.

It will be going on a 16/48.
Thanks for any tips.

What is your budget? That may help with what mods you should be looking into.

Stage one would fit in your budget. Look at evt's website. Think you can get labor and everything right around two grand.

I couldn't tell you man. Its a considerable gain though. Its quite a bit of work. Probably gonna pick up a few mph at most, but load carrying ability and hole shot will be dramatically increased.

Did you not hear what you were looking for? I think those were moderate estimates. The gain is significant. What are you hoping to gain?

Well i been running a 16/48 triton with a 40 merc and was running around 31 by my self and high 20's with a load. I am getting another 16/48 that will be a whole lot lighter. So i'm thinking if i can get it up around the 40 HP mark i can run the same speeds. At the same time other then changing the oil on my 25HP lawn mower i've never dealt with these motors so i don't know what to expect.

You should be able to run about the same as the old 40 with a stage 1.

That's kinda what i was thinking. I figured with the stage 1 and the lighter boat i may get a couple or few extra MPH.

Head work and High Flow stainless Exhaust- see how it runs.

If you want more, then put on the M-carb kit.

BPS or EVT parts.
