There are great spots all over the basin. Just got to put out a little effort to find them.

Nobody knows this area better than I do. There's no "scouting" required. There are only a fee productrive spots. We all know where then are. One can just watch the flight habits of ducks to know. You might kill a few ducks elsewhere but you will not be as productive outside of the honey spots. Anyone who says otherwise is completely wrong.

Do a little scouting and go find somewhere else to hunt. You've got more land and water in the Atchafalaya to hunt than you could see in your lifetime. Go hunt it.

That must suck. I get up at 4. Drive from Lafayette for 45 minutes, ride the longtail for 10, ready to shoot at shooting hours. Guess what! It's on public land and 9 times out of 10 I have the spots to myself.

I gotta give Dean props he's going about things the legal way, and it will make things safer. Things are the same way here in Arkansas. After Duck Dynasty aired on TV the number of "duck hunters" doubled or tripled and everybody wants to hunt public waters

So will there still be permanent blinds? Or is that a different place

Sounds like it's all about to get leased out for agricultural purposes with clauses allowing the lease holders to hunt the leased land, exclusively.

May get into farming widgeon grass next year.

Soooo, what is going to be any different now on Indian Bayou and Sec 28 if this is considered and/or approved? Sounds like nothing will be changed. It was always first come first serve in Indian Bayou by state law. The ag lease holder will still get his same deal that he already had.

Noticed there was flurry of activity very early in the morning on school board property this weekend. Seems everyone got the word about new rule of first to arrive hunts the blind.

To the fellas who hunted that small blind using an aluminum pirogue on the school board property, we checked it out this weekend arriving at it at about 2:45 am but decided to move elsewhere because the wind was too strong for the exposure in that spot. This was the first time I saw lights on this early in that houseboat in the canal on School Board property.

Good luck for the rest of the season. Water is gonna probable be 3 feet night than today for the rest of the season. Better loosen up your mourings.

It may be a Sec 16 property, but it's known as Sec 28 to those associated with it. It's off of Sec 28 Rd.

What a lot of effort for a duck blind.
Tell you what you work out the hours you spent researching, checking out blinds, getting all you paperwork sorted and time sending emails etc...put that into dollars that you could have billed clients for..devide thst by your limit per day...now take that number to your wife and say hell look at all the money we'd save if I fly to New Zealand once a year and shoot heaps of ducks all in one go lol.
