The motor just recently started bogging down when trying to get on plain and takes forever to build speed, it only does that sometimes, other times it runs fine. It started doing this the day i installed a water seperator, so idk if every now and then the fuel catches air ir what, any suggestions?

Eliminate variables. Disconnect separator and if problem goes away, check your separator connections.

My 27 mini did the same thing and i canned the water filter , it work good after that.

Check connections as stated above. I've got a water/fuel filter, 8' of hose ran to front, 3' in back from filter to engine. Never had an issue.

Do you have a primer bulb on your fuel hose, i would think you wouldnt need one since its fuel injected so im debating taking that off to

Yes it's in between the filter and the motor. Don't know how I'd gotten the fuel from up front through filter, to engine without it. And it was a bitch to get primed. But once I did it was home free.

Thanks man i have my primer bulb before the seperator, ima take the seperator off to see if it eliminates the problem. Another question though, does your motor blow out a good bit of black smokre when you get on the throttle?

Mine did some....

Before the break-in was complete it did a little. But when the rings set, more power, less smoke. And since I put on the SS X-Rated exhaust there has been no smoke.

Well taking the water seperator off did not do a thing, it still bogged down but ran fine when on plain, i wet ride through the swamp and was cruising slow for about 2 hrs and it did fine, gave it gas to get on plain and it started spitting and sputering so i fliked it in nuetral then gave it gas and it ran fine.. Idk what the hell is wrong, guess ima have to call gatortail

Yes it has a return line coming from fuel injector but it does not look pinched, thanks fir the advise

I had a 27 act like this before and the air filter was too restrictive....

Would run like a raped ape once u for the Rpms up.

Seems like it is getting too much fuel possibly. Your plugs look ok?

Everything looks fine but i did notice there is a t in the fuel hose before the filter and the inlet on the t for the return line looks deformed and smashed, i would think that its supposed to be a regular barb like the other two ends but idk its been like that since i first bought it and i havent had a problem till now

Get one of those little black aux. fuel pumps from auto zone. Had one on my old 23GTR. Connect it to your ignition where it comes on with the key

To bring this back to light. I was experiencing issues with my 25gtr the last couple of weeks. I knew it was a fuel issue, and I thought it was the carb/throttle body. I took everything apart and cleaned them eventhough it didn't really need it, and still didn't fix my problem. I decided to check good ole MMT to see if anyone had experienced the sputtering and bogging down with a load problems. Eventhough I didn't have the crushed splitter, I decided to disconnect it and check the return line. I'm guessing it was due to ethanol or possibly bad fuel line liner, but my return fuel line had completely collapsed and about a 1" solid rubber plug had formed. Changed the line, and problem was resolved.

Hope this saves some time for others that experience sputtering, low rpms, and bogging down issues with the 25gtr.

I get an intermittent bog / loss of prime / instant rpm drop while WFO. Can you post a pic of the return line or is it just the line off the T right before the fuel filter?

It is the line that comes from the front of the motor to the "T". Its only about 8-10" long.

I had a 25GTR EFI for two seasons and 112 hours and the only issues I ever had with it were fuel line/connection issues. Once I got rid of my quick-disconnects on my fuel lines I never had another issue with the motor.
