How can I tell if I need a new clutch?
Changed that case gasket today and during disassembly noticed quite a bit of metal shavings in the outdrive. The clutch felt like it slipped a couple times the last couple of runs I made on the boat before changing the gasket. I checked belt tension first and it was only 9 lbs, so that may have been the problem. There is visible wear on both sides of the clutch surfaces. Should I take her for a test drive or go ahead and call the Boat Dr?
