pointless putting a mud motor on a semi V, if you do put a mud motor on that hull build up your transom. The 25's do not weigh that much less then the 35/37's . All the brands other then Dixie have their pros and cons.

Get you a 100 hp For Sale Sign and get you another boat. And if you must keep the boat, and you add pods to it, then save your money on the for sale sign and just cut it up for scrap.
Look around the forum, search it on google. You have find more information than you know what to do with.

I had a Modified V 1548 Weldbilt. Ran a 20hp Longtail on it and it did fine. Not the best in straight mud but it would get you there. Not the best out there but hey, I was hunting, that's all I cared. If you run it hard, you will get a couple seasons out of it tops. But it'll get you by long enough to figure out what mud rig you really want. I ran 20mph unloaded and solo, 15-16 with two and gear.

Not everybody hunts on a mud flat........... so..... Yeah, it worked fine for me for several years. Not to mention, we're not talking about an offshore boat type V like people make out. The center of the boat was maybe 4" deeper than the chine. To flat out just say that it won't work is ridiculous. They're serviceable. They get the job done, but there are better options out there..... If you already have the hull and don't want to swap or can't for any number of reasons then it will get you there. A flat hull just makes what we do more efficient and easier to accomplish for the most part.
