I like the 3M. If you prep the surface good it sticks good.

3m adhesive backing = $30-40 per sheet

Contact cement = < $30 for the entire boat and sticks better.

You may have more money in it with 3M. One thing I like about using the 3M is if you need to remove it just use a heat gun and pull gently and it will come up.

Using the 3M and contact cement is a waste of money. Contact cement is a lot more cost efficient and does a great job.

I used spray adhesive on mine last week. Seems to be stuck good but may all blow off the first time I go down the road. Lol

using a contact adhesive on top of 3M PSA is about the dumbest thing I've heard of. Its like wiping before and after you poop. The 3M PSA is a great industrial level product. Contact cement will still offer better adhesion. I work with sponge sheets like this on a daily basis we use both PSA and contact adhesive in making of industrial seals gaskets and other fab parts. The sponge will rip before the bond is broken with contact cement. PSA on the other hand can be pulled up cleaner and readjusted if not laid perfect make sure it is perfectly clean and wiped down with solvent any dirt built up in corners ect will lead to delamination over time.

I sprayed a light mist of super 77 on my boat then Stuck the turf with 3M backing on and it stuck like a mofo now. Make sure you clean it well before applying.

Post Re: Hydroturf Question!!
I recently purchased a new boat and am looking for a way to get Hydroturf for it. Specifically, the Gator Boat Brown that GatorTrax offers. As of today, GatorTrax is not expecting to have any of this color until late July/August, and Hydroturf says that they have none either. I've called CamoToad and he seemed like a great guy, but he also was not able to get ahold of any. Does ANYONE know who/how to get Hydroturf in the gator boat brown??!!?? Any help would be very appreciated!
