 Decking the Heads
Hey guys. I'm curious as to how far you can safely shave the heads on a 35 Vangaurd. Thank you.

 Re: Decking the Heads
Depends on what you are wanting out of your motor. From my understanding, anything under .05 is pretty safe and reliable. My motor was .040 and was a strong running motor.

I like .040. Probably wouldn't push it with anything more

I wish I woulda went .060 instead of .040 on my last motor. If I ever go back to a 35 I will

 Re: Decking the Heads
Thanks for the info. A local guy has a set for sale with stainless valves that he had cut to .055 which I thought was too much. I have a brand new motor and dont want to tear it up.

 Re: Decking the Heads
Anything past .050 I'd have the valve stems trimmed down some to allow enough lash adjustment.
