 Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
Looking to add a 2nd battery for a 24v trolling motor up front in my PD, but don't want to drill in to the sub floor. Any ideas on how to secure a 2nd battery up here next to this existing bracket? 18222371_10213331141173450_34679245113191777_n.jpg

Re: Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
Why don't you want to drill into the sub floor?
I guess you could run a bungee over the second batter and put one of those truck bed organizer rods across that opening.

Could get one of those black plastic battery cases, and screw it onto the floor with a few self tapping screws.

Re: Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
You could take a tube of liquid nails and just glue the battery down. I never would, but you could!

Maybe 5200 some aluminum angle to the floor to create a second battery tray?

Re: Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
Stay with a 12v trolling motor, boat shouldn't be too heavy for it. Or spend the money and have someone weld another tray to the deck. Drilling holes is the only other option for a good mounting.

Re: Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
Ain't shit to wreck drilling holes in the sub floor.
I'd rather a few 1/8" holes than some junk holding my battery in place.

The real question is, where are you gonna store your bow rope?

Re: Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
You could fab up a second bracket and weld it in next to the existing one

Re: Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
How about getting another tray similar to the one pictured and rivet it in the same holes to the right of the first one holding the floor down?

Re: Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
You don't NEED a 24v motor on that boat unless you fish in heavy moving tides or in the wind a lot. My 55lb 12v motor pulls my 1860 around just fine, including fishing in the river in a current.

Re: Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
Those are called anderson connectors and you can get them a hell of a lot cheaper without warns name on them.

Re: Mounting 2nd Battery Up Front
I fish the Big Cypress, Black Cypress, and Little Cypress Rivers (Creeks) in my 24 footer with a 12v trolling motor. It gets the job done for me. As far as my mud boat I use a clamp on 30lb trolling motor and only then do I put in the extra battery.
