I picked up a GDSD frame with a 23 hp engine that needs work for my 16x38 Go-devil duck skiff. I have a low hour Kohler 27 I was going to slap on it but after disassembly I found out the mounting pattern is defferent. Which isnt a big deal but the Crank is higher on the kohler. Ive read coco mods the 23 frames for 27 and 35's pretty regularly but cant find anywhere exactly whats done.

My initial thought was just to drill the transom mount where it bolts to frame 1'' higher and call it a day but I dont know if this would be the right move since it requires a longer belt. Can anyone help me out?

23 is the smaller frame and shorter outdrive. the 35 I had, had 27-35 stamped on the frame. So I guess they are the same frame but with different mounting plates

27 and 35 have same bolt pattern and i believe same shaft height as well. 23 is different for both.
