Porpoising issues since engine rebuild
I recently rebuilt my 2009 gtr with a level 3 delta kit. I am running a 1854 excel swv with tall transom. Since the rebuild I cannot trim the motor to where the prop starts to breach before the nose starts to porpoise. I have a new prop on the way, but are there any other possible problems beyond prop possibly losing grip? Any help is appreciated

I'll try a adding a cooler or a buddy up front and run it and see if that helps.....

Where is your fuel tank and battery? Move those up front also. I was told the Excels for some reason need a auxiliary fuel pump when running performance carbs and the tank in the bow, did delta say anything to you along those lines

Re: Porpoising issues since engine rebuild
Has the 10 gal built in tank in the bow and have a lightweight marine battery in rear. My motor is the non-cdi with a cam driven mikuni fuel pump...jamie said it should be fine. I'm getting plenty of fuel been having to lean out the mix...plugs were a little blacker than I thought they should be. I also put the ignition timing advance key in over the weekend which seemed to help a little and finally got the new prop in today.

Re: Porpoising issues since engine rebuild
does it have a lip along the bottom of the transom. if it does, get a cresent wrench and bend it down a tad. that will stop the bouncing. if not, put a fat chick on the front deck.

Re: Porpoising issues since engine rebuild
No lip to the transom...going to try the new prop and ignition timing today if I don't get hung out for a complete double shift....if not I may opt for moderately sized twins on the bow for better side to side balance lol
