Cellular trail cameras
Has anybody used them? They go from $100 for off brand all the way up to $1200 for some I have seen. I would probably looking at the cheaper end. Just want to put one on my swamp to see what’s coming in to the corn pile that showed up now that season is over. Also will be wanting to watch my duck boxes that I am about to put up in there. I don’t have a lot of time to get out there and check the camera so this would be great if I could get the pics emailed to my phone.

Re: Cellular trail cameras
I just got off of the phone with the owner of Trail Cam Pro. Wasn't expecting that, but he was great. And knew exactly what I was needing. You can check the website out and you can choose AT&T or Verizon as a carrier. He recommended either the skypoint Link-S or the Skypoint Link-Evo. One is $250, the other is $500. The $500 one's battery last a lot longer than the the cheaper one, and it's also got a GPS tracking device, just incase someone steals it. https://www.trailcampro.com/collections ... il-camerasThink I will order the Link-S soon.

Re: Cellular trail cameras
Most of the newer ones have their own plans worked out with the cell providers. After you purchase the camera, you sign up for their plans ($5-$20/month) and don't have to mess with your carrier at all.
I have 15 of the Moultrie cams, and 5 of the mobile modems. That way you can mix, and match if a certain area doesn't have cell service, etc. The cams are about $200, and the Modems were $150.

Re: Cellular trail cameras
I've had really good service out of Covert cameras. They have an AT&T version (Code Black) and a Verizon version (Blackhawk). You pick which camera based on signal strength in the area you'll be using the camera. You'll pay the subscription fee to Covert, so it doesn't matter who you have your cell phone plan with.
They carry 12 AA batteries. If you go with Lithium ion, the life you'll get out of a set is unreal. I changed them out at 6 months just because I was up there, but who knows how long they would have gone.
Monthly plans start out at $7-$10 per month, and the amount of photos that buys is good for most people. I think it's 500 or so.
I have mostly Moultrie cameras, so I'm about to try one of their field modems since that will give me additional wireless cameras for cheaper overall cost.

Re: Cellular trail cameras
I have 2 evo link cameras they are good for the money 250. The SD card comes with the V version and I downloaded the app. The pics are good for text but the SD card pics are great. 2 year warranty and the pics are free monthly for 100 pics. You can get different plans if you choose. I think the plans are 5/month 250 pics 15/m unlimited pics or choose 3 months for 75 unlimited pics. So far I really like them. They only text pics no video.

Re: Cellular trail cameras
Another link evo fan here. We use ours to kill hogs. Camera sends a pic, ride over with the ar 15, kill pigs, and go back to what I was doing. It’s worked out great so far.

Re: Cellular trail cameras
So, I'm still undecided on which camera to go with. It looks like both cameras have the same quality pictures. But the cheaper one (Link-Evo) doesn't have the GPS tracking device, and is not as "User Friendly" Then again, if someone steals the camera that's the cheaper one, I wont be able to track it, and will have to buy another camera anyways...

Re: Cellular trail cameras
Actually it does. There is a stolen function in the app that allows you to select the stolen function and you get the location once it’s turned back on

Re: Cellular trail cameras
Just stuck my $55 off brand amazon camera in the swamp to see if one of these is worth buying. Only saw a handful of ducks all season so we didn’t even shoot at them. First year having this.

Re: Cellular trail cameras
I had a couple coon asses at my home this past November. At night I would be awaken by their shooting and hollering. Come Moro I asked what was gwon upstairs? During the night bucks were tripping their cell cameras they had set up on big scraps. Both killed really nice bucks because of these cameras. They are worth it!

Re: Cellular trail cameras
Hooting and hollering not shooting and hollering. Homie don't play that.

Re: Cellular trail cameras
I've been using an Arlo wireless cam to watch my house being built. I picked it up from verizon and added it to my plan. So far battery last about 2 months. Takes clear day pictures and sends alerts. You can login and watch live video and sound from there. Night pics/videos have a low range for detection.
