Benelli super black eagle 3
Looking to see if any of y'all hunt with a benelli super black eagle 3 and if so, how do you like it? I have a franchi intensity currently that I like a lot and was thinking about upgrading.
I've always been a browning A5 guy, but ever since I got used to the franchi, I really liked it.
Any comments from experience on the sbe3 would be appreciated before I spend the 2k on it lol

Why are you gonna upgrade from the Franchi? I have one and love it. If your gonna sell that franchi let me know.

I really don’t think it’s worth the money for a sb3. I have an intensity and love it. I do see that franchi discontinued the intensity. They made the affinity a 3.5” and added an extended bolt handle and bigger release button. Also went down on the price $50.

Re: Benelli super black eagle 3
You have a great gun, save your money. You will gain nothing except for a gun that is harder to deep clean. The Franchi is very simple to clean since everything comes out the front and you do not have to remove the buttstock.
The Affinity 3.5 and Intensity are essentially the same gun, they just streamlined the product line. I have an Affinity and an Intensity, they use a slightly larger bore diameter than the M2/SBEII and pattern the same steel loads slightly better, more uniform and with better density.
Then there is the whole issue of not knowing what you will get with the SBEIII in terms of whether it will pattern to POA or high.
If you want a new gun, take the Intensity down and have it re-dipped or refinished in the latest greatest camo pattern.

Re: Benelli super black eagle 3
Don’t get the sbe3, not sure why Benelli came out with a new version of the sbe series. There’s not a huge amount of upgrade over the sbe2.
I will throw a wrench in your mind set for you. Buy the super Vinci over the sbe3. I have the 1st gen Vinci and sbe2, the Vinci to me is a better gun. Now I’m splitting hairs with this but the Vinci to me is a better over all gun.
The breakdown of the Vinci is amazing, I prefer the safety button placement and the action assembly design is very functional and easy to breakdown and clean. Also, I feel that I get back on target just slightly faster with the Vinci. I plan on upgrading to the super Vinci before our season opens. The 1st gen Vinci does not cycle 3 1/2 shells and the super does, that’s the only reason I’m upgrading.
I’ve owned both guns for awhile, the sbe2 for 12yrs and the Vinci for maybe 6 with no issues. You really can’t go wrong with either option.

Re: Benelli super black eagle 3
Personally I own a SBE2, and never shoot 3.5" shells. The M2 shoots just as good at a fraction of the price. Since the beneli patent ran out on the inertia system, lots of new comers in the field. This is what I would be looking at if I wanted a new gun. Already comes cerakoted. Retay Masai Mara. (Turkish gun) https://www.gunbroker.com/item/784398974That being said, I have several friends that have sbe3, and it shoots sweet, light, points right, and never had any of the high POI like lots have claimed.

Re: Benelli super black eagle 3
I had a SBE3 and I sold it. It shot a foot high at 30 yards and it didnt matter how the gun was shimmed, who shot it, or what shells I put through it ( I tried 6-7 brands of steel shot). I even put a big HI VIS sight on it and that didnt help either. I replaced it with a Beretta A350 and Im really happy with that gun so far. Id stay with your Franchi for now.

Re: Benelli super black eagle 3
I would take a look at the Super Vinci, if you don't need the 3.5" check out the M2

Re: Benelli super black eagle 3
Yeah, I kinda did the same thing as you bro. My buddy bought an intensity for duck hunting and then switched jobs and never got to take it out the box. I picked it up for 575 new in the box, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I've loved it ever since and it is definitely the easiest gun I own to clean

Re: Benelli super black eagle 3
If you want to look at a new gun check out the A-400 Extreme Plus. It’s the smoothest shooting shotgun out there and cycles every shell you can throw it. Recoil (felt) is a fraction of any other gun allowing for fast follow up shots. You won’t be disappointed.

Re: Benelli super black eagle 3
Yeah, I've heard good things about that gun. Heard it's a damn good shotgun. Imma rock this franchi this year given the opinions of the masses on here and see how she does. She did good for teal season, so I think it's gunna be good. If I invest in another one, imma check out that beretta bro

Re: Benelli super black eagle 3
From the guys that had 2's and bought a 3, the overwhelming majority said that it wasnt much of an upgrade considering the cost. I just picked up 2 SBE2's that will be cerakoted and worked on before season. I shoot a A5 as well but will probably dump it for the new franchi elite thatll be out his summer.
