15'4 Gheenoe (narrow Transom) Swomp Lite 10 hp
A few years back I had sold my larger gheenoe for more family boat. I got a decent deal on a custom gheenoe (much smaller) than their super 16. Max hp rating is 10hp. I liked my Swomp 35 a good bit and will be looking at their Swomp lite 10 for my new little duck rig. I do have a concern, due to the narrow transom as it tapers down toward the back, am I going to have an issue where the white water meets? Gheenoe is a 15'4 highsider custom made by custom gheenoe called the NMZ. Boat is 120lbs.

Freedom hunter, it looks like you have the Gheenoe manufacturing 15'4. Custom Gheenoe only makes two boats, the lo tide 25 and the lt 10. Either way I would think you would be susceptible to sinking the rear when turning. I would sell or trade for one of the wider at the stearn models or a jon boat.

Re: 15'4 Gheenoe (narrow Transom) Swomp Lite 10 hp
Thanks guys, I hope it works well too. Figuring what I am starting to get in cost I am 2/3rd's of the way there to the price of an Alweld, swomp 23, and trailer package. I just was trying to avoid Aluminum for fishing the Lagoon. Motor should arrive by the end of next week. I am hoping it will plane with 2 guys. Concerned with the narrow taper towards the back.

Getting to much water in the rear for the motor to run on the surface. Not sure if there is anything else for me to do. Boat wont plane.

Re: 15'4 Gheenoe (narrow Transom) Swomp Lite 10 hp
I've never used a Gheenoe, but I had a 17.5 foot Frontiersman freighter canoe. My 6.5 on a small Swamp Runner weighed 82 pounds depending on how much gas was in the tank, and would plane it sort of if the load wasn't too much and it was distributed right. Have you tried weighing the bow down? https://youtu.be/7L8wPR4fCA0
