Hammer prop
Has anybody ever put a hammer prop on a Kohler 27hp mud buddy hdr? How did it perform compared to the big blade?

Re: Hammer prop
I think I will have to agree with that. Doesn't have the stones to turn it. That's the same motor I have.

a stock 35 and I think even a stock 37 don't even have the nuts to turn a hammer.
Don't waste your money.

Re: Hammer prop
Ole Ronbow had 6 different boats an motors from 2000 til now, last 2 were 4400 HDRs been running a hammer on both yes it wont get the RPM to max advantage but i like the beefyness over the big blade cause it last way longer. being a reliability kind of guy that fine with me.RPM is what kills theese motors boys and for very little extra speed gain.Maybe some CNC guru will make a billet block for aftermarket for us then u will see a big improvement in high performance and reliability. I dont think ur 27 will get any advantage with a Hammer. Says Ole Ronbow

Re: Hammer prop
You can’t turn a hammer with a 27.

Re: Hammer prop
Bet you $100 he can turn it. On the trialer and at low rpms, it'll turn fine. It just won't accomplish the goal of moving the boat very well in any use case where these motors are designed to be run.

Re: Hammer prop
U can run a cut hammer on that motor just gunna have to be careful on how much pitch u have put in it. However if u wanna runs a performance prop on it call me I have some props that work well on the smaller motors if u need.
