AUSTIN (KXAN) — Gov. Greg Abbott along with the Texas Department of Public Safety released a long-term plan for state homeland security focused on protecting Texans from terrorist and criminal attacks.

The plan stretches until 2025 and will add to the foundation set by the previous plan, which was in place from 2015-20.

As promised by Texas Governor Abbott - several hundred deportations have occurred
despite the Biden Executive Order to halt deportations....

In recent days, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has deported immigrants to at least three countries: 15 people to Jamaica on Thursday and 269 people to Guatemala and Honduras on Friday. More deportation flights were scheduled Monday.

Officials in Honduras confirmed that 131 people were on a deportation flight from San Antonio Texas that landed Friday. Another flight that landed in Guatemala on Friday had 138 people, with an additional 30 people expected to arrive Monday, officials there said.

It remains to be seen what Louisiana will do with a group many of which have numerous
criminal charges in coming days !

According to activists, there are also 23 Africans facing deportation from an Ice holding facility in Alexandria, Louisiana, as early as Tuesday, including 11 Angolans, seven Cameroonians, two Congolese, and three others of unknown nationalities.

The case against the moratorium was brought by the Texas attorney general, Ken Paxton, who played a leading role in the effort to overturn the 2020 election result.

Paxton addressed Trump supporters in Washington on 6 January shortly before the storming of the Capitol.

“We will not quit fighting. We’re Texans, we’re Americans, and the fight will go on,” he told the crowd, according to the Houston Chronicle.

“Texas is the FIRST state in the nation to bring a lawsuit against the Biden Admin,” he wrote. “AND WE WON.”

Nope, Texas will continue winning its battles against unconstitutional decrees from the Biden administration.

I just reviewed the order: it's only a 14-day temporary injunction on implementation of the executive order and has no bearing on the merits. It has no legal significance at all or does not set a legal precedent.

Why does anyone support blanket legalization of illegal immigrants? Especially Mr "I'm a Lawyer All Things Smarter than everyone else". Was the law broken in their entrance into this country? Is there a process with which they can enter legally? Is the system broken? And just because it's broken, does that mean we go blind and ignore they broke the law? Democrats have been ignoring immigration law repair for years, but don't want anyone else to do anything about it either unless it involves ignoring that illegal immigrants broke laws in place. How do you trust that everyone willing to break that law will have any respect for other laws that exist, and it stands to reason that if they broke other laws, Biden and company would be willing to forgive those transgressions too. There is no evidence to the contrary.

facility made famous for "children in cages" - however they don't call it that....

The Texas facility reopened and hold children between 14 and 17 just as it did
under Obama and Trump - without any major renovations....

Funny they call it an "acceptable facility" now that Trump is out of office - yet

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has come down heavily on the Biden administration after recent reports revealed that it is reopening a child migration detention facility in Texas.

Without mincing words in her criticism, Ms Ocasio-Cortez, who is popularly referred as AOC, said: “This is not okay, never has been okay, never will be okay - no matter the administration or party."

“Our immigration system is built on a carceral framework. It’s no accident that challenging how we approach both these issues are considered “controversial” stances. They require reimagining our relationship to each other and challenging common assumptions we take for granted,” tweeted AOC, who is considered among the top progressive leaders in the US.

The Democrat leader, however, noted that it has only been two months into the Biden administration. “Our fraught, unjust immigration system will not transform in that time. That’s why bold re-imagination is so impt (important). DHS shouldn’t exist, agencies should be reorganised, ICE gotta go, ban for-profit detention, create climate refugee status and more,” she tweeted.

The issue of migrant detention camps in the US has been controversial for years and remained so during the Trump administration as well.

During the 2020 elections campaign, Joe Biden had promised measures to end child migrant detention facilities. AOC’s criticism came after The Washington Post reported that the child detention facility in Texas is being reopened to accommodate 700 minor teenagers capacity of other facilities was limited due to Covid-19.

Apprehensions of unaccompanied migrant children along the southern border, which have been rising steadily since last year, spiked this month, straining the U.S. government's limited capacity to house these minors during the coronavirus pandemic.

About 97% of the roughly 8,000 beds the refugee office has available for unaccompanied children are currently full, with the agency housing 7,777 minors as of Friday, an HHS official told CBS News.

This month is on track to be the busiest February in the history of the refugee agency's program for unaccompanied youth, said the HHS official, who requested anonymity to speak freely.

U.S. officials along the southwest border took roughly 2,000 migrant children into custody this week, according to government data reviewed by CBS News. Nearly 400 children were taken into custody on Friday alone. In January, the last month with available statistics, the U.S. refugee agency received more than 4,000 unaccompanied children from immigration officials, a 19% increase from December.

Eliminate Covid rules of social distancing........

While ORR has more than 13,000 beds for migrant children, its current capacity stands just below 8,000 beds because of social distancing and other measures taken to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The HHS official said ORR is asking shelters to reactivate bed space reduced by "very conservative COVID-19 procedures."

"During the pandemic, care providers have taken beds offline in order to maintain social distancing standards at all times. However, there is currently a critical need to bring many of these beds back online," Saturday's memo said.

Why so many unaccompanied children ???

The Biden administration continues to rely on the public health authority to expel most single adult migrants and families with children, but it made a policy decision to shield unaccompanied minors from the expulsions following a court ruling allowing the practice.

Representative Vicente Gonzalez (D., Texas) on Monday warned that President Biden’s immigration policies will be “catastrophic” for the country and the Democratic Party.

In an appearance on CNN, Gonzalez expressed growing concern over migrants who have crossed the border ahead of even those who have waited in Mexico while their asylum claims have been processed, in line with the Trump-era Migrant Protection Protocol, or “Remain in Mexico” policy.

He noted that while thousands have waited two years south of the border for their chance to enter the country, that migrants who made it across the Rio Grande Valley recently were processed and released.

“If that is the message that we send to Central America and around the world, I can assure you it won’t be long before we have tens of thousands of people showing up to our border and it will be catastrophic for our party, for our country, for my region, for my district,” he said.


“I think we need to have a better plan in place,” he added. “I think asylum seekers should be able to ask for asylum and be processed in their home country or a neighboring country and we shouldn’t have a policy in place that influences people to make this 2,000-mile trek where cartels and human traffickers are enriching themselves.”

He noted that the toll of the pandemic — over 3,000 people in his district have died from the virus — makes the border crossings that much more dangerous.

This echoes what Representative Henry Cuellar (D., Texas) has said about the situation at the border, telling Axios he is concerned that some immigrants are being allowed into the country without receiving a COVID-19 test first.

Cuellar said he hopes the administration continues using the Trump-era Title 42 public health order to quickly expel migrant adults and families during the pandemic.

“You just can’t say, ‘Yeah, yeah, let everybody in’ — because then we’re affected down there at the border,” Cuellar reportedly told the outlet on Saturday.

positive for Covid were shipped to States across America - with no documentation of
their test results...

Representative Henry Cuellar (D., Texas) on Friday blasted the Biden administration’s handling of the
U.S.–Mexico border crisis, calling out a delegation from the White House for failing to speak to anyone
when they visited the border this week.

“Any president should come down [and] really spend time with border communities,” Cuellar told Fox
News. “You know, the president sent a delegation and a bunch of folks from the White House. They
didn’t talk to anybody, not even members of Congress down here.”

Biden has an excellent opportunity to get Mexico to help stop Central Americans
from illegally entering our country !!!

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador asked U.S. President Joe Biden for a
vaccine "loan" during a virtual meeting on March 1, after Mexico's vaccine strategy was
knocked off course by slow deliveries from Pfizer Inc and German partner BioNTech SE.

"We are hoping for the help, support and solidarity of the U.S. government," Lopez Obrador
told a regular news conference on Tuesday alongside Ebrard. He added that people in Mexico
over 60 will be vaccinated by the end of April, a month later than previously planned.

A spokesperson for the White House National Security Council said the U.S. priority is to
vaccinate Americans.

"If we have surplus vaccines from that effort we will look for ways to share them," the
person said, without addressing whether the U.S. government would respond to Mexico
by Friday.

The Truth is out - Biden will use the vaccine to get Mexico to stem the migrant waves
and it is a crisis - as per his press secretary's own words....


Psaki was responding to a question about U.S. plans to lend doses of the AstraZeneca
vaccine to Mexico, and whether the U.S. made any demands in return for those doses,
including increased cooperation on immigration matters.

"There have been expectations set outside of, unrelated to, any vaccine doses or requests
for them, that they would be partners in dealing with the crisis on the border," Psaki said.

Confirming details, Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said Mexico and the United States were crafting a deal for 2.5 million doses of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine, and that he would reveal more on Friday.

Mexico's government said on Thursday it would restrict movement on its southern border with Guatemala to help contain the spread of COVID-19 as the Biden administration set out plans to loan Mexico vaccines to fight the pandemic.

MEXICO CITY, March 19 - Mexico's president thanked his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden on
Friday for agreeing to provide 2.7 million COVID-19 vaccines to help offset a shortfall in
its inoculation drive.

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador told a news briefing that the United States will
send doses of AstraZeneca's vaccine, which are slightly more than the 2.5 million U.S.
officials had previously indicated.

"We thank President Biden for sending us these vaccines," Lopez Obrador said in the
eastern state of Veracruz, noting the deal was reached on good terms for Mexico and
that he hoped the vaccines would be arriving from next week.

Due to delays in promised deliveries, Mexico has scrambled to obtain enough vaccines
for its inoculation plans, leaning increasingly on Russia and China to secure doses.

Officials announced the deal just as Mexico said it would restrict travel on its southern
border with Guatemala to curb the spread of COVID-19, dovetailing with efforts to contain
a surge in U.S.-bound illegal immigration from Central America.

Mexican and U.S. officials said the two steps were not a quid pro quo, but foreign policy
experts noted that the agreements suited both governments.

Lopez Obrador said that in return for the vaccines, Mexico would give the United States
what it had "always" given, namely "friendship and cooperation across all spheres."

He said that the vaccines would help Mexico reach its goal of inoculating its population
of 126 million, beginning with a first shot for all people over 60 by the end of April.
