40HP Blown Head Gasket
About to swap out a blown head gasket (verified with a leak down test), on my 40HP B&S. Do y'all resurface the heads, or just throw the new gasket on and roll with it?

Re: 40HP Blown Head Gasket
I'd check the head and the block with a straight edge and see if they're truly flat. If it blew a gasket, it probably is warped (but possibly not), which means another blown gasket in your future. If it's warped, pull the other side too and get them both shaved to match.

Re: 40HP Blown Head Gasket
Agreed ^^ on a seasoned head the deck surface moves around near the exhaust port and towards the pushrods. Guessing it pushed the gasket towards pushrods
