Im trying to figure out what size hull I need to go with for my 23 mudbuddy. Ive been told that because of the weight of it, I need to go with a little wider hull like a 1652. I was originally going to go with a 1544 or 1644 but was told by a boat dealer that I would lose performance due to the weight causing too much draft. Just curious as to what I need to do. This will be a one man rig for the most part with a light load. |

I have a 648 (1648) war eagle with a 23 hp mud buddy SD. no problems with weight, im trying to figure out if i can handle a 35 mud buddy SD. 1644 would be good, 1544 im not to sure of. works well for me overall depending the application. extreme shallows and thick mud are a little sketchy (not sure if hull or motor problem) and can get stuck easily. but if theres 4 inches of water im good. ive ran the boat by myself and the boat was pretty much empty and ive never had a problem with water over the transom. |

A 1744-1748 crawfish skiff would be good, it has the length to counter the weight, yet still small foot print for drag on step. |

I have a 23 copperhead on a 1536 scully skiff. Boat flys, but if I were to do it again I would go in that 40-44 range for width and another foot or 2 longer. I call that little boat the death wagon for a reason. |
