Hydro turf is a great product and may be the best out there. But there are a couple other less expensive options. I've used the Hydro-Turf brand with and without the adhesive backing and much prefer the adhesive backing. With the contact cement it takes twice as long to turf a boat. I used the "Sears" mat on a boat and it came out nice. Bought the sheets at Academy in the gym section. A little bland looking but for $30 a sheet, i did the whole boat, including contact cement and brushes for $100. It feels softer than HT but if your not dragging bricks across it daily it should last a while in a duck boat. BlackTip Jetsports traction mats. This is real close to HT, if not the same, and it comes in a lot of colors and patterns. $66 for a 40x78 sheet delivered with the adhesive backing already on it. I bought it on Amazon. As you can see I bought the snow camo. HT in snow camp with 3m backing was $100 a sheet. This boat will take 3 sheets, so I'll save over $100 using BlackTip. They are located in Florida and I ordered on a Wednesday and it was delivered to Georgia on that Friday. |

Good post. I used the gym mats and have had them installed since March. No complaints so far. |

Looks like you should do a write up on how to install too. You did a clean looking job on that bass boat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The gym mats don't hold up here. The ones I have seen and used personally gets beat up and will tear easily. Don't pressure wash your rig at the carwash, cause it will peel or tear it. |

gym mats will absolutely hold up over the hydro turf. just don't buy the ones from sears. Calll Gary with super mats. i have had mine for 4 years and it is torn in a few spots but it is not deteriorating into sand particles and flying into my eyes |

Good job, bbb. I bought closout grey HT diamond pattern sheets, and some tan camo as well. The center section after five seasons wore down so I did a mosaic with remnants. Any body who complains about that does not ride in the boat. Grey goes with all kinds of camo patterns too. |
