2- people, pop up blind, no gear, deep water- 30mph 4- people, dog, blind, decoys and hunting gear, deep water- 26 Steers easy, lots of reverse thrust. Been hunting flooded timber and we run up in brush tops and pop up blind. No problem backing out. Starts very easy, idles great. Had a little noise coming from the clutch area on the third hunt. Took it to Go-devil shop. Warren Coco (owner) and motor mechanic walk out and immediately start trouble shooting. Couldn't replicate noise ( go figure) so they took it in to the shop and went to work. An hour later it was good to go. These folks shut down in the middle of their projects to help me get going , explained how it all works, and got me back on the road in no time. Not only am I happy with their product, but their customer service is top notch in my book. |

Is the engine turning up as supposed? Those are very slow speeds for a 40HP. |

I guess Gatortail market shares are down if the Kool-aid Kid is back online bashing other brands. Go back to the deep water Craig. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Those speeds seem about right, depending on prop setup. |

The speeds are as advertised on Go-Devil’s website. Don’t set speed expectations based on what people claim they are getting. You will be extremely disappointed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Really Craig.... The OP just came on to talk about how happy he was with good factory service... Not everyone gives a shit about 2-3 mph of extra speed - some care more for safety and reliability.... That is why they buy a GD.... |

Customer service is good with godevil, but I agree with Craig 100%. People spend money on performance. I was willing to spend money on performance and am still spending doing more and more. I burned a bay boat with a 115 Yamaha the other day after a hunt. Made the money spent worth it. I also like shaving off 10-15 minutes off my boat ride too, so yeah, it’s worth it |

I don't mind 30mph in ole heavy. Because I know I have everything I need when I get there. A tin can boat is not for me. |

So what was wrong with the engine? What caused the strange noise? |

This exactly the rig I'm looking at getting. How are you liking it? Also can Go devil extend the front deck to cover the gas tank and trolling motor battery? |
