We had family in town, and wanted to show them some of what we like to do here in Alaska. Just reading that, I could visualize it! Sounds great! Speaking of cinammon, do you see any teal? Curious as to the duck species you encounter? I am basically counting forward to teal season, dodging falling mangoes, and praying we'll be spared any hurricanes here! |

We have green winged teal, but I don't think we have cinnamon teal. Here in the Interior I've seen Canada geese, and I think whitefronts. For ducks we have mallards, buffleheads, widgeon, mergansers, swans, cranes... Growing up in SW AK I saw those same, as well as pintails, shovelers, king eider, brandts, and other sea ducks, and the occasional emperor goose. I don't get out duck hunting as often as I'd like, but as the kids get older and Momma lets them come with I'll get out more. |
