Post Small long tail and long ride question
I’ve had a whole bunch of various boats over my lifetime but never a mm. Kinda thinking of putting together a small simple rig. I hunt a place that’s 4-5 miles at speed, then a 3mile bump and grind in stumpy bayou with outboard idle. Occasional logs and obstacles.
My tiller rig w hyd jackplate is working ok but the 3miles takes time. I’ll be making this run often, 3-4 days per week sometimes.

I’ve been watching videos nonstop and drawn to a small copperhead or backwater swomp longtail with 12-14ft flat. Either must have elec start. I’m 100% solo w light loads. Another must is sit down travel for the long rides. Safety first at my age.

Suggestions opinions from those been there done that ? I’m thinking the small hp versions mught be too slow but I sure don’t want anything much bigger.

I would go 14 foot with a 23 lt. I had a 14 foot jon with a 23 go devil long tail. Ran 20 no matter if it was solo or with my dad and my dog. 23 was strong enough to get me in and out of whatever I needed to
