Totally not related to MM but I have a Japanese mini truck that was painted white from the factory in Tokyo. I bought a Styx River stencil kit to camo the truck cab. The rest of the body has been bed lined etc. (see photo below).

Curious, should I just wash the truck and use a mild de-greaser on the cab then just start painting?

Should I sand anything first?

Any input / knowledge or helpful tips would be much appreciated.

You will want to sand it first. If nothing else, you want to scuff the surface. I would want to get down through the clear coat. An orbital sander will help with the job.

Thanks ranger. I called the manufacturer and he suggested a fine sanding and to apply a dove grey or khaki base coat over the white then start laying the stencil pattern down.

Scuff it down with scotch brite real good, two light coats of a base color and go to town with the stencils.... and post pics!!!

Those pieces of shit are horrible. That one looks newer. Maybe it will be better than my dad's. I hope you are 5'7" or less. God help you when shit starts breaking on that pile!

I bought me a Japanese one-- its says Honda Pioneer 700.

The AC in that one. Is it in a box under the bed or does it use a conventional automotive setup?

One of my buddies had the box thing under the bed and it stayed full of mud. He put this massive lift on it and it was never right. If he had not messed up the suspension so bad I think we could have dabbed up some sort of mud protection. Or relocated it. Either way he ruined that one. AC would be nice tho

I want to see it when you finish the camo

I had one of those with tracks on it we used for bombing across frozen lakes....never any problems with it at all ran like a top. Cant wait to see this one in camo!
