How many of yall fool with taxidermy?

Thinking about doing a few ducks, seems easy enough.

I've done a few ducks. They aren't the best looking but the price was right. My buddy just took a bird taxidermy course and learned a lot of good stuff to help the quality of the mounts. I got a few birds to start this spring when I find the time.

1. Easy enough?? Enjoyable yes.
2. No two birds are the same
3. Larger ducks are easier to learn on
4. Multiple ways to skin a duck for the pose.
5. Make them fat free.... if you can see it - get it gone
6. Wash, wash, wash.
7. Tumble gently
8. Use the right preserve method
9. Wrapped bodies are fine but it makes sense to buy if you haven't wrapped one.
10. Everyone's duck is better than yours.... that's Ok you are learning.

I used to. Probably done 100 or so. Then I found myself doing birds for lots of people. It was no longer fun. Now that my 10 year old is skinning ducks I may get back into it and teach him how. I learned by watching a video. Study lots of pictures and professional mounts.
