Post Pearl River Hunt
Guys, been thinking of trying to put a few ducks in the freezer before the end of season. Apparently I am a terrible marsh hunt as my first year in the marsh plain sucked. Does anybody have any suggestions on hunting the pearl? I'm just curious what areas are off limits or is it all good to go? Not asking for anyone's holes but just trying to get some I for before I go scout and find a place and find out I can't hunt it. Thanks.

All I can say is be careful and file a float plan and store some of these guys numbers from the emergency contacts in your phone!

Not trying to jinx you bro, but defaulting to caution.

Which, by the way, is where most of the ducks are.

Watch for logs in the river

High water after a dry period always loads the pearl up.

According LWF, south of HWY 90 is open to boat traffic. Closures relate to vehicle traffic and use of roads bridges until it drops below 16.5 feet. Call 985 543-4777 if you want to confirm this.

Yea not many birds on the pearl this year. Shot a 3 man limit opening morning and hasn't been much ever since. There's not many logs floating in that area. They are all on the west pearl and there isn't much to hunt on that side. almost all of the marsh is off of middle and east pearl and they don't have a lot of current, more influenced by the tide than river height so there isn't many logs floating through there
