Three New Mounts
Thought I would post a few new mounts I recently completed in my shop to freshen up this thread with duck season right around the corner. I have my personal King Eider I shot in St. Paul, Alaska this past season, a customer's dead mount he wanted hanging by the necks, and a customer's flipping blue goose.

Re: Three New Mounts
How well do those hanging dead mount last being hung by the neck verses the foot?

Re: Three New Mounts
Probably just fine considered they're tanned and the neck is foam filled
It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

Re: Three New Mounts
Thanks for the compliments. St Paul is insane to hunt for kings but one of the best hunts I've been on. Nothing like being in the Bearing Sea in 8-10ft seas in an inflatable boat with a 25hp engine shooting ducks. As for the strap mount, they will last like any other mount due to them having a support wire holding them in place. The strap is only there for looks, not support. If supported by just the strap, the skin would rip over time. Bird skins arent tanned, they are just fleshed and preserved with borax so they can easily be ripped from the weight of the bird over time.
