 Re: Gator Glide
This may be completely unrelated, but would gator glide make a difference on my 14 ft jon boat? The reason I'm asking is because the boat is riveted, so there will be no smooth surface on the bottom of my hull either way? Anyone ever tried this before?

 Gator Glide
Slick coats will help any boat slide off stuff better.

 Re: Gator Glide
How will this help in the mud? I see all the comments about vegetation, but what about the nasty stuff?

 Gator Glide
Well got most of the steel flex off yesterday. What little stayed on the boat got roughed up. Applied 4 coats of GG and had about half a coat left over. A lot easier to apply than steel flex. Goes on like paint. Feels slicker than the steel flex. Gonna leave it upside down for a few days and then put it back together Thursday evening.
I bought the half gallon kit and it was plenty for my 19ft boat.

 Re: Gator Glide
Not sure how to post a video, but my friend just put the gator glide on my boat while I am in Turkey. He sent me 2 videos of him pushing it by himself backwards on the trailer. And one that shows how easy it is to crank back up on the trailer with one finger. I could never have done this before with 2 men. This stuff is awesome.

 Gator Glide
I just put mine back on the trailer tonight. After I flipped it over, my 5 yr old twins started pushing it around in a circle on the grass. Twice I had to stop them before they pushed it into my truck.
Winched it right onto the trailer. forgot how nice it is to have it on there.
I am dreading launching and retrieving while alone though.

 Re: Gator Glide
BBB, just don't put the bunks underwater. Launching or putting it back on the trailer. You just have to get close and you'll be able to push it right off. When putting it back on, just barely put the back of the bunks in. Just enough so the boat won't catch and the motor will push it right up to the hook with hardly any power. It will stay put while you get out to latch it as long as you don't shake it around too much.

 Re: Gator Glide
I've got a small 14x42 Jon boat, y'all think it'll make some difference on it? I know its almost inevitable seeing that it's not a slick, but I'm not getting a nice rig until we get water.

 Re: Gator Glide
IMO, I wouldn't spend any more money on a boat you aren't planning on keeping much longer. Will it help? Maybe a little...

 Re: Gator Glide
Sent an email to the people at gator glide and got a reply the next day. The guy gave me a number to call him but he won't return a call. WTF is this guys problem? I was about to place a big order to do a few boats. What's the story with the wetlander product?

 Re: Gator Glide
Thank you for your order. After sanding with 100 or 120 grit and wiping thoroughly with acetone. I advise applying the slick bottom in multiple thin coats using a 6" inch 3/8" to 1/2" nap roller (I like the white ones with the blue stripe running through it, Home depot), Three coats to four is ideal, You can mix as much as you want. When you open the bucket mark the outside at the top level then mark half, quarter and so on and do the same with the catalyst. It needs no induction time, you can get to work. If you're going to put more than three coats on try and give it a little more time between coats. the drying time between coats will vary depending on humidity but typically takes 15 to 20 minutes between coat. Throw your roller in the pot and throw a rag over it between coat (Do Not apply while it raining even in your shop.) This is a water born product and needs to dry between coats. GatorGlide will fisheye or separate when you are applying the first coat. This is completely normal! It will tighten up on the second and third coat. I know it looks weird but it's how the stuff works. Depending on how porous the surface is will determine how much it fisheyes. Wait for it to dry (about 15-20 min) to the touch and start your next coat. Please never hesitate to call me to discuss the application, mixing tips or if you just want to bounce idea off of me. The longer it sits before you run it the harder it gets. Thank you Sincerely, David B. Re: Gator Glide
I put it on my duck boat this year and it is great. Run up into a catails to hide and one or two shoves of the push pole and I'm out again. Also makes launching and loading very easy. I used G2.

 Re: Gator Glide
fellas... this is what I have on my little skiff. It is unreal accross Green Lillies and or Dry Land. I was trying to get stuck a few weeks ago.. Riding WOT, then hitting Lillies on top of mud.. Holding up motor, and seriously sliding for like 40 yards or so.
I recommend this to anyone that has the extra money to spend on their hull. We are also a Installation Center for Gator Glide. So, anyone that is TOO lazy to install themself, Give us a Ring...

 Re: Gator Glide
for those of you in the know on this product.
I have a homemade boat, the bottom and 4" up the sides are fiberglassed. I have noticed this year some slight chippng on the bottom. Is this product water tight also?

 Re: Gator Glide
I am also interested in this product, I'll take every advantage I can considering I mostly run alone... My question is where can I find this stuff around baton rouge? I see I can order it online but I want this to be my weekend project... Also I guess I could count on drastic wear on sandy bottoms an lake bottoms right.. Thanks buds
