You will get more from the Mikuni carb.

Re: CAM OR CARB & INTAKE
TXSHOCKWAVE was running stock carb for awhile w/ little daddy customs. He said he really noticed the mods when he put the Mikuni on. Of course he burns a lot more fuel now but he says you just hold it around 3/4 throttle and still maintain great speeds.

Re: CAM OR CARB & INTAKE
Go with the cam...... Been down thw whole road from stock to stage 3+. I really liked the way the motor acted with just the cam and heads. And if you decide later on down the line you want a carb you just slap it on.

Re: CAM OR CARB & INTAKE
You want top end and accelleration- go with the carb first You want better load carrying - go cam first
Doing both is really nice on these engines

Re: CAM OR CARB & INTAKE
PROBALY GO W/ THE CAM DUE TO INCREASED LOAD CARRYING, WAS WONDERING WHAT KIND OF INCREASE IN PERFORMANCE I WOULD SEE. CURRENTLY RUNNING 31 TO 32 MPH IN DEEP BY MYSELF & 26 W/ 2 GUYS TROLLING MOTOR 3 BATTERIES & TACKLE

Re: CAM OR CARB & INTAKE
The cam swap will move your "power" to a lower rpm range which helps with carrying/stepping a load faster.

Re: CAM OR CARB & INTAKE
Actually it is the other way around, the more duration you add the higher up the rpm band the max torque curve is made. If you are already running those speeds and you want to go faster then you will benefit more from a Mikuni carb kit than the cam.
