I've been told by some trusting fellas that you can go to a motorcycle graveyard or the store if you know what to get and get a throttle body and everything off a motorcycle and retrofit it to your vanguard like say a newer Honda shadow 750 for example cuz its just a simple v-twin itself, and boom you have a more fuel efficient, powerful and over all hell of a lot cheaper than having to buy a 1100 or 1500 dollar carb kit that still will not out perform a fuel injected engine. Or am i wrong please help and I know this will get Ni**ered up but try to stay on track.

not at all its just very interesting that on here i can usually get a whole lot of different advises and methods and by the end of the thread usually will learn other stuff totally off subject

id certainly do it last 4wheeler i bought was EFI and i loved it for the simple fact that while all my buddies were pulling chokes and pumping throttles when the temp dropped below 60 i turned the key, bumped the button once and waited for them to get going. also Im sure once you get into mods and all you could throw a Power Commander on it and dial er in too.. in theory that is...

It is more than just a throttle body, But It can be doable. You will need an ECM, Crank sensor, Injector(s), ignition system, MAP sensor, Oxygen sensor, and various other components. It is doable though.

If that welfare farmer dick would quit sword fighting with the setx girls, he could probably give some insight on what needs to be done and where to get parts. He says they have a tbi setup running on his son's gtr...

You would have a heck of a time with the ECM and fuel mapping, the rest of the swap would be fairly straight forward I think. I've done quite a bit of work on 2-stroke EFI snowmobile motors and it can be a mess dealing with an ECM, you will FOR SURE spend more money on that swap than you would just buying a carb kit.

If I'm not mistaken, tbi would be a little easier to adapt than efi and nearly as efficient. Is that correct?

my gas kubota is efi. and i didnt realize it until i bought it 2 years ago that its a kubota gas v twin.

I have a complete set up at the shop. Did it back in 2009. Never got around to putting it on my Generac. Runs like a bad Mofo with it. $2000 set up. We did it throttle body injection and direct port injection as well.

I heard of folks using Mega Squirt on various injection systems. Also Delphi has some sort of FI setup for Vtwins.
